Hi, my name is Claire and I like to make pottery.

After many years living in Sydney where I worked as a software developer, I returned to Ireland with my husband and 2 young children and decided it was time for a change.

Having always had an interest in art as a kid, I decided to try my hand at ceramics.

I began my journey in 2018 by attending the Ceramics: Processes and Techniques Design Course offered by Crawford College of Art and Design, Cork.  I learned how to build pots and sculptural work using pinching, coiling, slab building, mold work and extrusion. I also explored various decoration and glazing techniques to produce a series of finished pieces.

I instantly fell in love with clay and began learning how to throw on the wheel. Then, as luck would have it, the pandemic kicked in, classes stopped and I was left with a pottery shaped hole in my heart. So, I decided to set up a ceramic studio in my native Co. Cork while caregiving to my dad.

My pieces are made by hand with care. Perfection is never the goal.

When I am not throwing pots, I can be found hanging with my dog Rogue.
